Terms of Service

1. Who we are and acceptance

EarDub is operated by Zhang Qianfeng, an individual sole trader operating under the laws of the People's Republic of China ("EarDub", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the EarDub browser extension and the website eardub.com (together, the "Service").

By installing the extension, creating an account, subscribing to a plan or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a subscription.

2. The Service

EarDub generates AI voice dubbing for YouTube videos that have captions: it translates the video's captions and reads the translation aloud in a synthetic voice, in sync with the original video, inside your browser. Dubbing quality depends on the source captions; videos without captions are not supported.

The Service is a digital, intangible product. Paid features are available as soon as your payment is confirmed.

Third-party AI providers: translations are produced by DeepSeek's language models and speech by Microsoft's neural text-to-speech voices. Their availability and output can affect the Service; we will announce significant disruptions on our website.

EarDub is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube, Google, DeepSeek or Microsoft.

3. Your account

Dubbing requires a free account, created by signing in with Google, Microsoft or your email address. Keep your sign-in secure and your email address up to date, and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us at support@eardub.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Plans and prices

• Free: 30 minutes of dubbing per day, up to 3 videos per day, for videos up to 60 minutes long. No payment details required.
• Basic: US$9.99 per month, or US$89 per year. 60 hours of dubbing per month, videos up to 180 minutes, up to 20 videos per day.
• Pro: US$19.99 per month, or US$179 per year. No limit on dubbing time, video length or videos per day, subject to fair use (Section 9).

Quotas count the minutes actually dubbed and reset daily (Free) or monthly (paid plans, yearly plans included); unused quota does not carry over. Current plans are always listed at eardub.com/pricing. If we change a price, the new price applies from your next billing period after at least 14 days' notice, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

5. Billing and payment

Payments are processed by our payment processor and Merchant of Record, Waffo Pancake (subscriptions started earlier may be billed by Creem). The Merchant of Record is the seller of record for your purchase; its name is shown at checkout and on your card statement. We never receive or store your full card details.

Recurring billing authorization: by subscribing, you authorize the Merchant of Record to charge the plan's fee to your payment method at the start of your subscription and at the start of each renewal period (monthly or yearly) until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the current period ends. Before an annual subscription renews, you will receive a reminder email.

Prices are in US dollars. Any sales tax, VAT or GST is calculated and collected by the Merchant of Record at checkout according to your location.

Changing plans: when you switch plans or billing periods, the checkout page shows the amount to be charged, and any credit for the unused part of your current plan, before you confirm.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time, yourself: on eardub.com open Pricing → My subscription → Manage subscription (or Manage subscription in the extension's member center), which takes you to the Merchant of Record's customer portal. You can also email support@eardub.com from your account email and we will cancel for you.

Cancellation stops future renewals and you will not be charged again. Your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for; then your account returns to the Free plan.

7. Refund policy

• Money-back guarantee: if this is the first paid subscription on your account, you can get a full refund within 7 days of your first payment for a monthly plan, or within 14 days of your first payment for a yearly plan. No reason required.
• Duplicate or erroneous charges are always refunded in full.
• Extended outages: if the Service is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours for reasons within our control, you can request a pro-rated refund or credit for the affected time.
• Statutory rights: if the law where you live gives you additional withdrawal or refund rights (for example the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU or UK), those rights apply in addition to this policy.

Not refundable, except as stated above: renewal payments, requests made after the refund window, and accounts terminated for violating these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Renewals are not refunded because you can cancel at any time before a renewal, and the period you paid for stays fully usable after you cancel.

How to request a refund: email support@eardub.com from your account email with the date of the charge (and the order or receipt number, if you have it). We reply within 2 business days; approved refunds are issued by the Merchant of Record to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. A refunded subscription ends and your account returns to the Free plan.

8. Billing questions and disputes

If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us at support@eardub.com before disputing it with your bank. We reply within 2 business days and correct confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.

9. Acceptable use

EarDub is a personal viewing aid. Our Acceptable Use Policy (eardub.com/acceptable-use) is part of these Terms. It lists the content that must never be generated with EarDub (pornography/NSFW, violence/gore, hate speech, child-unsafe content (CSAM), deepfakes/impersonation of real people, and copyright/trademark infringement) and explains how we moderate content, how to report it and what we do about violations.

You also agree not to: republish, sell or distribute dubbed audio or translations; use the Service in a way that violates YouTube's Terms of Service or creators' rights; circumvent quotas, share accounts or automate requests; attack, overload or reverse-engineer the Service or extract our credentials; use outputs to train or benchmark competing AI models; or present AI dubbing as a human translation or as the voice of a real person.

Fair use of unlimited plans: "unlimited" covers normal personal viewing. Automated, commercial-scale or shared-account usage may be limited.

10. Content and intellectual property

Videos and captions belong to their creators and to YouTube. EarDub claims no ownership of video content, and dubbing gives you no rights in it: dubbed audio and translations are provided only for your personal listening alongside the original video.

To provide the Service we process the captions of the videos you choose to dub. Dubs are generated per video and may be cached and replayed for other users who dub the same video. We do not use your data to train AI models.

The EarDub name, logo and software are our property.

11. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy (eardub.com/privacy) explains what we collect and why. Payment card data is handled only by the Merchant of Record. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time at support@eardub.com.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". AI translation and synthesized speech can be inaccurate, incomplete or mistimed; do not rely on them where accuracy matters, such as legal, medical or financial content.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (zero for Free plan users). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

14. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, are used fraudulently, or where the law requires it. If we end your paid subscription for any reason other than your breach, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live. Please contact us first at support@eardub.com so we can try to resolve any dispute informally.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date and announce material changes on our website (and, for subscribers, by email) at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
